Terms of service

Health and Safety

  • Safety is our top priority in all activities. Watersports inherently carry certain risks, and participants (or their guardians) must acknowledge the possibility of minor injuries such as bumps and scrapes. To ensure a safe experience, all clients are required to follow the safety and general instructions provided by our staff.
  • Wearing flotation devices is mandatory for all activities, including training sessions, equipment rentals, and when using personal equipment. Kuwait Sailing School reserves the right to deny participation to anyone not wearing the required safety equipment.
  • It is the responsibility of the client, parent, or guardian to ensure that participants are dressed appropriately and equipped with suitable clothing for the weather conditions on the day of their activity.

Medical Information

  • Participating in our activities involves adventurous and physically demanding experiences. Clients are expected to be in general good health and should ensure that the activity aligns with their physical abilities.
  • Clients must provide a truthful and accurate declaration of their health at the time of booking and inform Kuwait Sailing School of any existing medical conditions.

Most individuals with various medical conditions are able to enjoy sailing, and we strive to adapt our activities to meet individual needs if we are made aware of these conditions in advance. Kuwait Sailing School reserves the right to decline bookings or participation if a medical condition poses a safety concern.

Cancellation/ Refund Policies

Each activity has its own specific cancellation and refund policy. Please ensure you review the policy before proceeding to the payment. By completing the payment, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the cancellation and refund policy.

Weather Constraints

Watersports are inherently influenced by weather conditions. At Kuwait Sailing School, we strive to conduct activities in a wide range of weather; however, for safety reasons, certain conditions, such as high winds or rough sea, poor visibility, high temperatures, may prevent us from proceeding.

Please note that decisions regarding whether an activity takes place are made solely by the instructor or staff on duty, based on their professional judgment and safety assessments. It is NOT the client’s decision to determine whether conditions are safe or unsuitable.

  • Clients who choose not to attend based on their own assumptions about the weather, without prior confirmation from us, will not be entitled to reschedule or refunds.

While we do our best to notify clients of cancellations in advance, weather conditions can change unexpectedly, and forecasts are not always accurate. In cases of severe weather forcing cancellation, we will make every effort to arrange an appropriate catch-up session or offer alternative dates, subject to availability.

Personal Property

Kuwait Sailing School is not liable for any loss or damage to personal belongings during participation in our activities. We strongly recommend that valuables are kept in a secure location and not left in changing rooms or brought onto the water, even if a dry bag is provided. Participants are responsible for safeguarding their own items.

Unruly Behaviour

Clients are expected to act respectfully and considerately during all Kuwait Sailing School activities. If, in the reasonable judgment of Kuwait Sailing School, a client or any member of their party behaves, or appears likely to behave, in a manner that could cause harm, distress, or inconvenience to others, or damage to property, Kuwait Sailing School reserves the right to immediately remove the individual from the premises or terminate their participation without prior notice. In such cases, no refunds will be issued, and the client will be held liable for any damages caused.

Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited on all equipment during activities.

Age Limits

We are unable to accept students under the age of 7. While there is no upper age limit, students are responsible for ensuring they are physically fit and capable of participating in their chosen course.

Photography and Media Policy

Kuwait Sailing School may occasionally capture photographs or videos during activities. These may be used exclusively for training purposes or to promote and publicize Kuwait Sailing School events through our materials, website, social media platforms, press, or television.

If clients, parents, or guardians do not wish to be photographed or recorded, they must notify Kuwait Sailing School at the time of booking or in writing prior to the start of the activity.

Occasionally, authorized third parties may also take photographs or record videos. In such cases, you will be consulted beforehand and asked for your consent to use the images for promotional, advertising, or publicity purposes in any format. If you agree, the copyright for such materials will rest with the authorized parties.

Please note that our activities take place in a public setting, and we have no control over photographs or videos taken by random individuals, beach visitors, or bystanders.
