Description

Kuwait Sailing School as an authorized EFR Emergency First Response® (EFR®) Training Center.

 

EFR is an internationally recognized CPR and first-aid training organization affiliated with PADI. The course combines online learning, delivered through the PADI digital learning platform, with practical, hands-on training led by an EFR Instructor.

 

EFR course content is based on guidelines from the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), which includes member councils such as the American Heart Association (AHA), European Resuscitation Council (ERC), and others.

 

Upon successful completion, participants receive an EFR certification valid for two years.

 

Kuwait Sailing School is an EFR Training Center. We are not a PADI Dive Center. PADI provides the digital learning platform used to deliver your EFR online course materials.

*EFR qualifications are also used by our KSS sailing instructors to meet the first-aid requirements for their RYA instructor qualifications.

Duration

Full EFR course: 5–8 hours online learning + 6.5-hour practical (one day or split over two days).

Refresher course: 4 hours.

CPR & AED Only course: 3 hours.

Age

10+.

Who is it for?

EFR courses are aimed at almost anyone interested in learning life-saving skills, with

no specific age or physical condition restrictions. Specific target audiences include:

 

    General Public/Individuals/ Parents/ Caregivers: Anyone wanting to be prepared for accidents at home or in the community.

    Teachers and School Staff: To manage injuries in educational settings.

    Workplace Employees: Specifically, to comply with safety regulations.

    Recreational Divers/ Watersports Instructors: Often required for PADI Rescue Diver and Divemaster certifications.

    Public Facing Workers: Retail staff, public service employees.

What’s included

    Online learning materials and knowledge assessment/exam

   Instructor-led practical training and skills assessment

o  Primary Care – 9 skills: Scene Assessment, Barrier Use, Primary Assessment, CPR (Chest Compressions), CPR with Rescue Breathing, Serious Bleeding Management, Shock Management, Spinal Injury Management, and Conscious/Unconscious Choking

o  AED Training: Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

o  Secondary Care – 4 skills: Injury Assessment, Illness Assessment, Bandaging, and Splinting for Dislocations & Fractures

      Digital EFR certification eCard upon successful completion of the course

Course Duration & Format

Part 1: Self-Study - Online Learning (MUST be completed before attending the practical)

o    After booking, you’ll receive a PADI email to log in or create an account.

o    Takes 5–8 hours (depending on reading speed and prior knowledge).

o    Complete all modules

o    The Primary and Secondary Care exams can be done after the practical session

 

Part 2: Practical Training & Scenario Practice:

o    Practical sessions are typically 6.5 hours (with a break) but may be shorter or longer depending on group size. Larger groups may require additional time.

o    The practical may also be split over 2 days, which is generally preferred for groups larger than 6 participants. (4 hours Primary Care| 3 Hours Secondary Care)

What to wear

     Comfortable clothing for practical training.

     Participants with long hair should bring a hair tie for practical training.

Cancellation & refund policy

         Cancellation & Refund: Full refund only before online learning materials are assigned. Once assigned, the course is non-refundable.

         Rescheduling: Within 72 hours of booking only.

•       Late Arrival: Up to 20 minutes late will reduce your practical training time. More than 20 minutes late will be treated as a no-show.
